Johnthang
Thinking about a replacement amp/receiver. I have a Carver hr-752 with a defective balance pot, any ideas?? Also i bought my cornwalls new in 1982 maybe time to look into crossoverhaul ??? The1983 herseys that I bought the other day, have Crites overhauled crossovers, and they sound awesome. Any insight is welcome.
RT FAN
I have given the "Crites Treatment" to both my Chorus II's, new Crossover & Tweeter diaphragms & my Forte, mid & Tweeter Diaphragms plus new Crossovers & they are the best bang for the buck improvements I have made.
Johnthang
Thanks. I was thinking about getting the kit and replacing the components myself(caps & resisors...). I can handle that myself. If anyone knows where I can get balance pot for my receiver I would rather repair than replace.

For your Carver see if Hi-Tech audio can help you they do all kinds of vintage Carver repair. They are out in Oregon. Best of luck MKP :-)
Johnthang
Ok got the package from. Mr Crites yesterday. Installed caps in right speaker first. Did a test run with Welcome to the machine. The difference between left and right was very evident. Right speaker was crisp and clean, left was muffled in comparison. Installed caps in left speaker, test run with Welcome to the machine again, amazing how you don't notice deterioration over time. The only clue that I had was the heresys sounded crisper then the Cornwalls. Thanks for the great advice Stephen. CECAA850
amazing how you don't notice deterioration over time. Truer words have never been spoken. Just like shocks on your car. They feel fine till you swap them with some new ones.

coli
Onkyo 818, you can use the digital crossover feature and bypass the crossover to go active.
davidt
I just purchased my first pair of Klipsch, the forte 1s, and only have a handful of hours of listening time. While I am enjoying their sound I want to make sure I am getting the most out of them. Should I assume that some sort of maintenance is needed? They are very clean, in original boxes, and the owner said they had been stored for a while now. John Chi-town
Glad to hear your enjoying the new crossovers. Now take it to the next level with titanium diaphragms in the tweeters and squawkers. Completely reversable if you dont like the upgrade, Best regards, John Edited June 22, 2015 by John Chi-town
