Moderators dtel Posted May 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2015 Should be a good review, wish he had a little bigger room. Matthews
Nobody buys a Klipsch system to play background music ...suppose you may call me "nobody" from here on out Shall I change my screen name??? My mini system, specifically set up for morning "background music" is, what is that you say, KLIPSCH? Yes, that is it, Klipsch for background music (what else would you use, I ask?) - a pair of KV-1's and a lil' SW-8 II... Sure we do, just turn the volume down and you have background music. But aint no fun in that!!! Nice looking subwoofer in the review. derrickdj1
I am not telling anyone I listen to a lot of music on my system less than 75 db, lol. I have a great collection of elevator music and soft jazz, lol.
Moderators dtel Posted May 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2015 Sure we do, just turn the volume down and you have background music. True, I do the same thing, but if that's all it did well I could have gone a little smaller, you don't need huge speakers to play background elevator music....even if it does sound better. Moderators dtel Posted May 12, 2015 Moderators Share Posted May 12, 2015 ...suppose you may call me "nobody" from here on out Shall I change my screen name??? Please don't, that would screw me up, Mr. Nobody. Ok I have to ask, wouldn't the LaScalas with the little sub work great just for the morning background music, turning off the little sub for other listening. I say this because LaScalas have an extremely clear and clean top half and the sub could help the bottom when played really low. Just wondering ?.....nice liking room

Paducah Home Theater
"Sine waves at 20 Hz coming from dual R-115SWs measured 110 dB at my main listening position—enough to make my vision blurry and trigger nausea. Seriously, that's more bass than I need." "The sub is especially generous when it comes to doling out bass in the 20-30 Hz region. Paducah Home Theater
"Nobody buys a Klipsch system to play background music" Well I feel sheepish. I'm somewhat of a fan of flamenco type of music. Was listening to Armik this weekend who composes stuff that was inspired by Spain and Greece, and I kept thinking to myself, you know, if I had some Klipsch THX ceiling speakers and a good Spotify channel, I could just play this stuff as background music 24/7. Matthews
Well I feel sheepish I appreciate and respect the interest and preferences of others. A pathway to knowledge for an open minded individual, if you will. However, if I were to listen 24/7, the aforementioned genre... - a wee bit of the mental case upon our hands we would have Rock on Metropolis just poking a little fun

I was only thinking the little sub just to add a little bump at really low volumes where LaScalas don't have much bass at all. I bet those LaScalas sound great with those two helping out. The best HT I have heard was Indy's and he used all LaScalas and a couple of subs, every thing was so clear, gunshots sounded like the real thing.

"If we weren't all crazy, we would go insane." -- Jimmy Regarding the genre, we built our house with the idea that it would incorporate many of the things we love about beach houses in the keys, spain, greece, bimini, belize, etc. I'm always on the lookout for stuff that will transport people into that mindset. It's harder than it seems unless you're already into that sort of thing. Most people who are in to traditional neutral colors just think we are off our rocker. Pretty much the entire house is whites, sea greens, blues, teals, etc., except for the theater room which is black and pirate themed. Hardly the standard color theme. Did I mention that this is difficult? Edited May 13, 2015 by MetropolisLakeOutfitters

I sit at the computer like Matt listening to music and on the Klipsch forum, lol. I sit at the computer listening to Klipschorns with a Belle center. If it has peaks of about 65 dB, it's backround music; if I crank it up to peaks of 100/105 dB, with a few even higher, it's pretty much in the foreground -- then I move to the nice soft couch, and sit in the MLP. Both seating positions are dead center betwen the Khorns. Any desk that is not centered between speakers makes me sad.
