Well, keep an eye on this, Pintoracer.  Yesterday's batch went pretty much north, but hard to tell where this one will get to.  That rain out front has probably put 2 inches were I am in the past 2 hours and the main batch is still a couple of hours out.

No mass off Port Isabel this AM, your amateur weather forecast for the Texas coast says all clear except for possible isolated heat showers.  That is, 100% chance of rain if water happens to fall from the sky where you are.

Sorry, haven't been on the computer much the last few days.  Been out driving the Mustang.  :)   We've been having evening showers pretty much every evening, Dave.  Other than that, the river is going down slowly.  Getting better every day.

If you are the praying kind, pray for Mexico and Puerta Vallarta in particular.  Typhoon Patricia is the most powerful storm in recorded history.  It isn't so much a hurricane as a massive F3 tornado.

And, given conditions, it will just travel across and bring a LOT of rain to the rest of us.

Probably about 2" in steady rain since noon here on Galveston Bay.  Main rain looks like central Texas.  Barometer dropped from 30.31 yesterday to 28.89 at the moment.  Just reset the pointer to see if it's still falling or starting to rise.  If it moves farther north DFW will be washing away.  They already had some flooding last week and it's still saturated up there.

Storms that large usually lose their cohesiveness, especially when they make landfall.  The problem is they can break into several giant, but still smaller storms.

You guys in Texas will be better off if the wind keeps up and it blows over quickly.  If it stalls and moves slowly you can just get drenched, even more than you already have.

I'm watching Texas Tech at Oklahoma and they look dry.  Did this impact any of the Texas home football games today?

Storm remains visibly cohesive and is perhaps a 100 miles to the east of Houston this morning.  I'd estimate the wind at 5k feet to be at LEAST 50mph from the NNE.  Barometer at my house holding at 28,85.  Wouldn't want to be in a crosswind landing right now.

Most of the rain is just off the coast.   We got 5" yesterday and last night and if that rain comes ashore there will be flooding.  Houston bayous can handle 5", but after that they flood.
