Heresy serial number / mfg date?

Recommended Posts

Am I missing something? I don't seem to be able to decode this serial number. G535900.

This is Ink-stamped on a paper stick-on label. This speaker doesn't have numbers stamped in the back of the edge.

pictures would help

83 was the last year they stamped the numbers in the wood

my guess is the G is probaly the number 8 which would make them 1985

never saw the letter G stamped in the first spot. do you have the mate to this and does it also have the G

next clue would be to remove the backs and find out what drivers are in them. i believe the K-55V was last used in 1983

Can you take a photo of the entire back panel, to show how the speaker wires get attached?

K-77 / K 53 K / K 22 K

Crossover  type E-2

these are the odd heresy  with the k53 instead of the k55v -and the E2 network -     is the midrange horn a K700 with the screw on adaptor for the k53 or is it a k701 plastic midrange horn -

your Heresy speakers are 1983 for sure as there was a Heresy 1 with k24-k77-k701 in 84      - the Heresy 2 was released in 85 with a k24 -k53-k76

they are NOT 1983 because if they were 1983 the Letter Y would be in the serial number and it would also be stamped in the wood on the top rear panel

1984 was the first year the serial number started with the year of manufacture and the letters A-Z was over

i believe they were made in the 35th week of 1985
