Quick acoustic treatment question...will this stuff work?

The facing on the "room side" of the material needs to be raw - not covered with a film or other barrier.  Rock wool probably isn't the favored material, however, since it is very itchy if touched. 

 

I'd recommend cotton lint squares (cheap is good)--here are examples:

I really do recommend dual Owens-Corning 703 fiberglass panels for corner bass traps, with zip-up sacks that cover them in pairs:

The bags are available online for a reasonable price and the 703 panels are available at Home Depot, etc. - so you don't have to pay for shipping of these large/bulky objects.
