Synergy Sub 10

Our Sub 10 has started making a noise that appears to be in the speaker itself but from reading posts, I now feel it may be the amp. I realize that this is very broad and was wondering if recording the sound it makes could help determine if it is the speaker or the amp?  The rubber surround on the speaker appears to be perfect.

Thanks! I had to sell of my RF7ii system a few years ago due to inner ear problems. My ear is getting a little better and i have a good job now so i have been treating myself. I have a pair of RF-52 in my bedroom and just got a pair of Mirage OMD-28s for my living room. Also, delivering a second pair of RF-3(these ones are immaculate) to my dad today! I was looking forward to hearing a sub in my bedroom settup but i guess the timing is not right

My receiver went out about 5 years ago and I haven't used my sub since that time.  For XMas we finally replaced the receiver only to find then when I tried to power on my sub it was dead.  I check the fuse and it was blown.  I bought a couple replacement fuses and they have also blown instantly when I try to power on.

It looks like this is not an uncommon problem.  Does anyone know if Klipsch is still working on this discontinued product or have any idea the cost?  Anyone know of any potential "home" fixes?

Thanks in advance.

If it's a constant hum or similar it's the amp for sure. If its some sort of concussive, rattling, or scratching sound that comes with a hard hit it may be the driver.
