tweeter protection in the AA crossover in a Khorn

Who can post a picture [or knows where I can find one] of the zener diode protection in the early AA filters of my 1997 Khorns?

The previous owner had removed them while changing the caps; I guess it's better to re-install them to protect the [round magnet] tweeters when playing loud.

Thanks!

THANK YOU all for responding; I should have mentioned that they were removed, but given to me along with the original caps after buying the Khorns.

MACH-1 ; that's exactly what I was looking for!

THANKS for providing both picture and schematic, now I can see where the can-type caps were positioned as well as the diodes.

If one does not want to spend $40 for a set of four to do one pair of type AA networks, I have designed an inexpensive solution involving N-Channel FETs (about $5).

I would be interested in learning your approach to replacing the zener diodes of the type AA networks with N-channel FETs.

Pick an N-channel FET that is cheap.

Hook a 100Ω resistor between the gate and the drain.

Mount two of these on an L-bracket, use no insulator (we need the electrical connection).

Connect the two source leads across the tweeter.

The body diode conducts at about 1.2V in reverse mode, and the FET turns on at about 4.5V (no logic level parts please), for a clamp voltage of about 5.7V or so.

A pair of head-to-head 2N3996 clamp at about 5.75V or so, or about the same.
