moray james
the problem with spikes like these is that they are too large (too wide of an angle) to be able to penetrate the jute backing on most carpets. Further these spikes are not near hard enough for use on concrete pads. I like to use Ramset 1/4 - 20 (threaded stud) spikes they are super hard (case hardened tool steel) will fire through 1/4 inch steel beams and they are sharp pointed and narrow so they will more easily penetrate carpet backing. Sharp points are important to get through the backing. I think that if you do some experiments and compare you will see what I am talking about. Thanks for posting. Best regards Moray James. Here is a picture of the Ramset part the orange plastic bits are removed they are there for alignment so the gun can fire the parts.
