Attending infoComm15 Tomorrow...Anyone Near Orlando Want to Attend For FREE?

Our church is looking to move to LED lighting in our Worship Center.  Today I was talking with the owner of CIS who we are working with.  Super cool guy.  While we were talking, I remembered about a year ago emailing his company to see if he would consider bartering Custom Website Design in exchange for a Danley Sub.  I asked if he remembered the email and he said yes.  So we got to talking about Danley and he was telling me about their subs and where he has installed them.  I mentioned the next time he is going to a location that has a Danley setup, if he wouldn't mind, I would love to stop by.  He reaches into his briefcase and hands me a flyer for a Free Exhibits Pass to an A/V Convention in Orlando called infoComm15.  Tomorrow is the last day and it's only from 7:30 - 3:00pm but he said even if I go just to hear Danley, it would be worth going.

I just registered online and just to attend the Exhibits is $200 but with the code from the flyer, it's FREE!

If anyone is near the Orlando area and can make it tomorrow morning, shoot me a PM and I'll give you the VIP Code.

Maybe I can take my GoPro and capture some footage (if they will let me).  The confirmation page says

On Friday, I had the opportunity to attend the infoComm15 Exhibit Hall for free (typically $200 for members and non-members) with a VIP Code that I had received from a new friend in the A/V business.  I really didn't have the time to attend due to Vacation Bible School and Wild Week starting on Sunday but I had never heard Danley and wanted to go check them out.

Upon my arrival, I first headed to Danley's 20' x 20' Demo Room.  I arrived just before 9am in time to sit in on the first 1hr demo of the morning.  Since it was the last day for the convention, there were only about 10 of us in the room.

Over the course of an hour, we watched a few interviews as well as demoed all of the speakers you see in the photo below.

We started out demoing the SBH-20LF.  SBH stands for Skinny Big Horn.  They are the narrow vertical speakers immediately flanking the projection screen.  They contain (4) 5" Coaxial Drivers and (2) 8" woofers.  This was the first Danley speaker I had ever heard.  As soon as they began playing, I noticed the clarity they produced.  Very nice speakers.  They played them in stereo by themselves and then added the single THMini (15" subwoofer).  These three speakers sounded very nice together.

We then listened to 3 speakers from the OS80, OS90 and OS115 (Outdoor Series).  This was just a single speaker and again, they sounded very nice with a very good amount of bottom end, especially without having any boundary gain and being 6' off of the floor.

We then moved to the Go2 Series.  These were some of their lower end series and honestly, they were just "ok".

Of course they saved the best for last....the Exodus Series!  Now this was a treat.  Incredible detail in the mids and HF with very good depth in the LF.  And for the grand finale, they played the Exodus speakers and then added the beastly BC218 subwoofer for a sonic massage.  This MASSIVE BEAST is 60" x 60" x 30", weighs an incredible 511lbs and can handle a whopping 3,400 continuous / 13,600 watts peak!

Since a few guys here on the forums use Danley subs, I thought they were used for HT but after the demo, I realized that they primarily are used for commercial applications (churches, stadiums ect.

I took a few video clips with my GoPro....I'll look through the footage and may post a quick video of it.

Unfortunately, I only had a few hours to visit the 1000 Vendor Exhibit Hall so there was a LOT that I was only able to see at a glance.  I was so overwhelmed, I TOTALLY forgot that Klipsch had a booth.  :(   I totally missed my opportunity to check out the new Reference Premiere Series.

Unfortunately, since I had very little time to spend at the convention, I didn't capture as much video as I originally intended to.  I thought the convention was going to be Home Theater / Automation related but it was really more Professional Equipment but still fun nontheless
