pzannucci
What budget? No sale = no buy. Show something interesting in an email flyer (on sale). Nice piece but a discount would be nice considering the competition.

Nice piece but a discount would be nice considering the competition. To each there own Sorry, it must be the "hurry up and buy before they're gone" presentation when they are not on sale and everyone sells them for the same price. I'd like to get an email with something that is stand out, not just something I can see on their site without being alerted to it. Nice integrated though a lot of competition around that price range, including some quality separates.
willland
Parasound Halo Integrated Amplifier I think our dear friend was just letting us know that Parasound(Halo) now has an integrated amplifier out that looks like it might be a winner. Plenty of power, John Curl design, subwoofer out, high quality DAC, all for $2495.00. http://www.audioholics.com/amplifier-reviews/parasound-halo-integrated-amplifier-and-dac-preview I am sure intrigued. I know some companies don't, or at least didn't, last time I checked. I used to know John Curl, designer of the power amp section, in Berkeley, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. He is a brilliant guy, so I'd expect the amp to be good. But, are the speakers and room good enough to make a unit like this sound noticeably better than a truly budget item? Not quite the performance bargain as the NAD C375BEE at $1599.00 but still a bunch of stuff and quality for the $$$. Closest competitor would be something like the NAD C390DD at $2599.00. Bill Again, nice but cost and the possibility of separates in the same price range. I would prefer the email with a deal (like when the demo unit in silver is $2295 - very nice). MSRP over the internet is fine though if you could sell everything for MSRP, we'd still be able to drive down the road and audition the unit. Those days are almost gone. garyrc
MSRP over the internet is fine though if you could sell everything for MSRP, we'd still be able to drive down the road and audition the unit. Those days are almost gone I could up until about 2 years ago, when our local high quality store folded. There is a low quality store around, but I'm not interested. MSRP on the internet often requires you to pay shipping (as do discount items online). MSRP in a real store is cheaper because you don't pay shipping, but people around here would have to drive about 70 miles to buy high quality components, and there is no longer a wide selection. willland
Again, nice but cost and the possibility of separates in the same price range. I think for what is offered in this Parasound Halo integrated amp, separates(preamp, amp, DAC) with the same specs and feature set(balanced connections, subwoofer out, native DSD capabilities, home theater bypass, and more) would most likely set you back a bit more $$$.
