Schu
http://www.jblproservice.com/pdf/MPro%20Series/MP255S.pdf there are a set of these JBL MPRO MP255S for sale here locally... any sub experts have experience with them? 2 - 15" speakers and 2 tuned chambers produce focused bass with little midrange to interfere with the mains. Remaining midrange output is then eliminated by a low-pass filter. Band pass feature combined with LPF eliminates need for a second amp or crossover, and assures solid performance in both biamped or single amp applications. Made of 7-ply plywood with tongue and groove joints, covered in 12 oz. carpet, fitted with heavy-duty casters and a 35mm polemount receptacle. 20-3/4"W x 37-2/5"H x 37"D. 115 lbs. moray james
why don't you audition them? If that is not possible pro shops will rent you some for a day or more for a modest amount and most will put your rental cost toward your purchase if you really like them.

Guest srobak
Great for PA & outdoors, horrible for home & HT. Only goes down to 34Hz and is -10 by the time it gets there.
Scotty H
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JBL-PRX718XLF-18-Self-Powered-Extended-Low-Frequency-Subwoofer-NEW-/221815309612?hash=item33a539052c I have this in One corner....18" professional series. If you have ever seen live music, then you are hearing something like this. JL Fathom 13" in another corner. Works for me? Fathom is of course a little deeper with it's crazy 4" excursions.
