dbomberger
I see a really cheap pair of Heresies today on CL. Terrible gouges on top of at least one cab. Is it feasible to remove everything and rotate the cabs so that the bottom becomes the top? What would be involved? I don't need them really, but at the price, it might be an interesting project.
MookieStl
If the price is right, it could be worth it. I am just now completing a Heresy cabinet rebuild and I used the front and back boards. they came out fairly easy with minimal damage. I see no reason why you couldn't remove rotate and reinstall. Fairly easy. Good luck.
Sancho Panza
Wouldn't this be easier to do with the original Heresy? Personally, I'd buy NOW & ask questions later...
MookieStl
Mine were original Heresies, I only assumed his were too. Buy first and ask questions later is how I ended up with my pair.
totalcomfort
If you have the skills to do that, I would just build new boxes. Easy design and you have one to make sure you get the measurements right.?
dbomberger
I did go see them and could have purchased them. But they were beat up almost beyond recognition, he might or might not have the grills at his house which was somewhere else. They had only scraps of labels left. Also had stapled to the back a repair ticket from a source not generally known for their good work on vintage electronics. The bottoms were worse than the tops. But mostly I felt like this was someone I didn't want to either know or do business with. Walked away. Thanks for the input from everyone though.
Sancho Panza
If it's that pair on Craig's Lust I would've offered $100 without & $150 with Grilles. Keep looking, found my last pair of Heresy II, Walnut Oiled & Beautiful, but no labels, for $250. Need to put some pics in my Gallery here; there are some in mine @ AVS, SanchoPanza (no space) over there... AllenTacey
I am as good with music as I am with wood. Go to Home Depot and get some wood filler. Ask for help on how to do the job. I'd get a small hand held sander (I have 2) with various grits finishing with very fine sandpaper.Start with some sandpaper under 150 grit sand until grooves a smooth then hit it with 200 grit then an hour of 400 grit add finish only when you like the feel. Use an oil finish and polish it until you are happy with the look. Geesh I write all that and look for some Tung Oil and found this: http://www.minwax.com/woodworking-videos/new-featured/three-step-wood-finishing-process
