Coytee
Speakers in the rear of my Toyota (Camry) need replaced. I've been using the front speakers and doing fine. I would however like to replace the rears. 6x9 I've not dealt with car speakers since high school days when I pulled the stock 6x9 out of the rear deck of my Chevelle and put in a pair of Jenson tri-axle's. I was just now doodling around and saw some pioneer 2 way, 3 way and even a FIVE way. I'm not concerned about the brand...but that got me wondering. in the world of our homes, I've heard the coherent benefit of going 2-way over 3-way. Would this hold true for the car world? Is one better off getting a 2-way or is the 4/5 way the new hot ticket? No place around that I'm aware of to hear these things....any rating of brands?

wstrickland1
If you're just running a stock head unit/ "amp" I wouldn't worry too much about what you got but if you're going to run a nice amp then I recommend JL Audio ZR series. I have a pair of the components in my '13 Camaro SS along with a steath-boxed pair of 10" subs and a JL HD 900/5 amp running off the stock mylink head unit. It is a very nice sounding system with very good bass (not johnny one-note), mid-bass and highs even with the top down.
Fjd
I seem to remember that depending upon the model type and year of the Toyota Camry that aftermarket speakers are not necessarily a drop-in replacement without some type of adaptor. Stevenarrow
music bounces around so much in you car. The speakers are pointed up at the glass or out of the door at your knees. I wouldn't worry too much about 2 vs 3 (4 or 5) way. I always feel like if you can optimize your car set up for 90's hip hop, you're probably doing ok. Frzninvt
If you are going with stock power you want something efficient. These look robust. Other good choices are JL Audio, Infinity, Alpine Type-R's. JBL P693 Edited July 31, 2015 by Frzninvt
JEFKlipsch
Was going to suggest JBL GTO series...but the Power Series posted above are the next step up.....sonicelectronix.com has them for $89.99 a pair and $69.99 a pair for the GTO938 I've used these a fe times and they are fantastic for the price JL Audio, Massive Audio, RE Audio and CDT are all good brands as well
Max2
Make sure they're not some funky impedance like Bose likes to do.
JEFKlipsch
The JBL's are 2ohm most others are 4ohm...think RE Audio has a few series that are 2ohm as well
Coytee
Says 3 ohms http://www.crutchfield.com/S-FFP8nvTvyFZ/p_109GTO939/JBL-GTO939.html Stock stereo unit. Car is 2005 so I'm not terribly inclined to put much $$ into a car system but, if these will work with the stock unit, I'd be ok with that. Thoughts?
