AliRashdan
Hello, I'm a newbie here and would appreciate your help. I'm looking to purchase the 5.1 channel RP-280F series home theater system and will add the 2 RP-140SA dolby atmos speakers later on. The series consists of: (2 Klipsch RP-280F Towers Speakers) (1 Klipsch RP-450C Center Speaker) (2 Klipsch RP-250S-BLK Surround Speakers) (1 Klipsch R-115SW Subwoofer) (1 Pioneer Elite SC-85 D3AV Receiver) 1. Do the series come supplied with cables in the box or do i have to purchase my own? 2. What are the best cables to get? *Flexible Budget* 3. Do the RP-250S surround speakers come supplied with stands or do i purchase my own? Which is a better setup? Speakers on the wall or on stands? Thank You
Moderators Youthman Posted September 20, 2015 Moderators Share Posted September 20, 2015 Welcome to the forums. I cannot comment on the new premiere series as I have no experience with them. You will need to purchase cables. I buy all of my cables from www.monoprice.com. Can't beat their prices.
Ceptorman
Welcome, that's a very nice system you have coming to you. Like Michael said on the cables. I don't think the surrounds come with stands, your room might dictate whether you need stands or wall mounted, I personally like stands better, especially if you want to move them around. Oh…..the new guy buys the beer

Coytee
If you're handy, you can buy some bulk wire and make your own. I used Mogami and some cool Neutrik "Profi" connectors http://www.neutrik.com/en/phono-rca/profi-cable-connectors/ The ground is spring loaded so it hits first and releases last (so you never get that "thump" when you rip one out!)
willland
AliRashdan, Welcome, welcome, welcome to the Klipsch Forum. Welcome to the forums. I cannot comment on the new premiere series as I have no experience with them. I too can't comment about the new Reference Premiere speakers from personal experience but can say that I have not read or heard anything negative about them. As a matter of fact there are quite a few testimonials and reviews that are very favorable. I am sure there are others who don't love these new speakers also. Either way, it looks like you have chosen well with your speakers and gear and are in for a treat when you get it all set up and cranking. Ali, where is your home? I see some extremely large land animals in your avatar photo. Bill Edited September 20, 2015 by willland
Mallette
Ditto on the welcomes! You're in for a treat, a long lasting one. I use Mogami for location recording and if you need to roll up cables and such it's hard to beat at the price. Top quality connectors are nice to ensure solid connections. However, neither of those affect the sound IMHO so the choice is a matter of what you are happy with. Dave
Scrappydue
welcome to the forum. i have owned almost all of the reference premiere stuff already. the models i have not owned are actually all going to be at my house soon. then i will have owned and heard them all in my own home. 1. Do the series come supplied with cables in the box or do i have to purchase my own? you will have to grab your own as others have said. 2. What are the best cables to get? *Flexible Budget* not sure if you are in the US or not but if so most guys seem to prefer monoprice cables. 3. Do the RP-250S surround speakers come supplied with stands or do i purchase my own? IF you do stands you will either need to purchase or build you some custom ones. Which is a better setup? thats up to you. as long as they are both properly setup it would just be which ever is better for your room most likely. Speakers on the wall or on stands? i prefer wall mounted myself. about 1-2 feet above ear level. but wall mounted means no floor space taken up by stands.

ricktate
I would say if the cable runs are not to long. Just buy lamp cord and make your own cables. No sense in paying more for what you do not need. But Monoprice is dam good place not sure about shipping to your house though...WOW. Lamp cord you can buy 16 GA in a roll pretty cheap and most places have it. Oh welcome to the forum new guy...Rick
