tap on the front baffle, see if you get the same noise.  If tapping makes the noise happen, it's time to get better screws to attach it.  I should find those pix and post 'em if I haven't.  

drilled out the existing holes with 1/4" bit
glued in a section of 1/4" dowel, shaved them flush with a chisel
drilled 1/8" pilot holes
used some #10 screws with a wide washer-type head to secure the front baffle.

and my problem went away.

@EpicKlipsch That's why I have 2 spare woofers and 2 spare CD drivers in backup for my CF-3's.  Rare to find anymore.  Could potentially be a failing resistor or capacitor within the crossover...maybe.  Swap the horn/driver from one side to the other and see if it follows the horn/driver assembly.
