oldtimer
My wife's phone developed this strange problem where when texting her phone would freeze and be very slow to receive and respond but only with my number. Both phones are on the same account. She took it into a shop and the guy said her phone's digitizer was bad and so it was replaced and the phone was completely updated. It's a galaxy note first edition. Well that didn't fix the problem so we called tech support of the network provider and they tried a couple of things and that didn't work either. Switching sim cards fixed the problem except now people think they are calling her but now its me and vice versa. So, if the phone is at fault why does it work fine with a different sim card and if the sim card is at fault why does her sim card work perfectly fine with my galaxy s3 mini? Any thoughts? The problem developed over the last several months before that everything worked as designed.

Quiet_Hollow
How old is the SIM card? My old SIM from '06 wouldn't work in my new phone (circa 2014) even though it'd still fit. The cell store had to port everything onto an updated card in order for it to work. Something to do with UICC conformance for UMTS. It only took minutes to do the swap. oldtimer
Two or three years at the most. Sim cards were bought and installed for these phones at the time. For most of this time there were no problems.
Mighty Favog
When I was getting my second smart phone the store had to put in a new SIM card as it was a 3G and the new phones were 4G.But, my wife's son is having trouble with his S5 after it automatically installed the latest Lollipop OS update.
