Jim Posted October 1, 2015 Share Posted October 1, 2015 Heading up to the Salmon River to flyfish for Salmon. Been doing this annually for the past 3 years and this will be my 4th season. If anyone is interested in some fish,let me know, I will be glad to bring some back. These don't taste like the farm raised ultra pink in the stores,and don't have the col,oration in the meat either, but I've been told it's still pretty good. Leaving tomorrow,and coming back Sunday. From what I understand, the Salmon is the longest undammed river, and the longest river, period, at around 400 miles within a single state (Idaho), in the lower 48. Fly in to Vancouver, they'll pick you up in a Helicopter, and fly you in. It's the only way to get there. Go for the big kings, an Alaskan/BC saddle blanket, or up travel up a freshwater river for coho, steelhead or pinkys. It's all good, it's all inclusive, and they pamper the hell out of you. You can make the trip with just a carry-on, they supply the rest. And yes, you can use you're own gear. They'll even cure your fish and ship it back to you. First Class outfit, all the way.... well established. Well -- my mistake BIG time! You're not the only one Larry. I thought Oregon too, then I thought, must be Alaska or BC...... completely forgot about the Atlantic Salmon. Never went after those, but am familiar with BC.
