Avatar moving image?

I see some of you have an animated avatar. How do you upload these? What kind of file type is it? Can I simply copy and paste one that I see on another website?

ok, I see I can copy the URL but all you see is the URL and have to click on it to see the animated .GIF

How do we get that animated "image" into the avatar?

Copy the GIF to where you normally put your picture.  Normally right click the gif and then click properties.  Copy and paste that.  It will end in "gif"

that doesn't work. I don't see "properties" when I right click on the gif

Ahem... you need to either "create" the gif, or use one that has been "created" by someone else.

Still photo's can not animate themselves.

usually it is done by using very short snippets of video content and converting it in programs such as Photoshop so that it is more of a series of still images instead of a moving image.

once that is done, it reacts just like any other jpeg or still picture when posting.

thnx, I'm aware of most of that, but that doesn't help  :(

The gif I want to use is already made (I didn't make it).

The above for instance, how do I get that animated image(s) in my avatar?
