Klipsch RF-5 Speaker Value

I really like the networking and wireless capabilities of Denon receivers. Would this receiver be able to handle the RF5s while adding an additional amp later for the other speakers?

Under Multichannel Preout it has

(0.2) / x

I'm not sure what that means or if it will work for me

I would step up the Denon food-chain and go refurbished. Something like this would be a pretty large upgrade over the AVR-2100:

I am a big Yamaha fan and if you don't need all of the newest bells and whistles, this would be a killer receiver:

I am sure it would be fine under most conditions provided your do not have a huge room and you don't play it crazy loud.

The 2100 only has zone 2 stereo preouts and dual subwoofer preouts.  So no you will not be able to add an outboard amp to your HT system.

While those both look like amazing recievers, they are a bit more than what I wanted to spend

How about the Denon AVF-X3000?  "Variable Multi-Zone Pre-Amp Outputs Yes Z2"

I just bought a 2100 myself. Didn't feel the 3000 was worth th extra. You will find lots of places where they said the 3000 was a low selling model cause it didn't have any extra features or anything over the 2000 or 2100 models. So grab a refurb 2100 with free 3 yer warranty or step up to the 3100 model and add extra warranty if need be. Accesories4less is a good place to buy from

When in doubt, look a picture of the back of the receiver.  There should be a section labeled "Pre-Out" that will have 6 RCA's on a 5.1 receiver or 8 RCA's on a 7.1 receiver.

And the rear photo reveals no stereo or multichannel preouts for the main zone.

You have to step up to the 3100/4000/4100 if you want to go with the Denon "X" models.

El Guapo,

I have 2 receivers I'm selling. A yamaha RX-A2020 that has a 3 year warranty on it that's transferable, and a Denon AVR-X4000. I am going to get the newer X4100 myself, so I don't need to have a bunch of extra receivers around. I am going to lower my price to $625.00 on the Yamaha, and $550.00 on the Denon. Both of these receivers are going to be able to push those speakers, and you can add in several amps if you wanted to. I have both set up now as 9.2, and 9.4 in my home. I didn't want to pull the trigger on another receiver until I got rid of at least one of these. If you are interested, they both fall into the same price range as the others mentioned above.

I also bought a x2100w. For $300 it was a no brainer. Right now I'm driving (3) RC 7's (with sub) and really does kick. Plenty of power for my needs but that particular system is never truly put through paces. I also use the zone 2 for my pool area.

I do absolutely love the networking features and the smartphone/tablet app. The Zone 2 works great also.
