Floating glass shelves for Audio Equipment

I'm curious if anyone has built any to hold their equipment? I'm going to be building a Cinema F-20 sub that will lay on its side in between my La Scala's. I was thinking about having my amps and wot not above the sub and below my TV. I'm concerned however that I may not be able to find anything stout enough to hold my MC-2105. Any wall mounted equipment out there?

I agree and was planning on using lag bolts. I wondered if I could just sit my equipment on top of the F-20. I have spent the last couple of days reading the F-20 thread over on AVS, looks like most have stopped building it, I'm late to the party as usual.

There's a thread here also.

The new has worn off the design, that's why people aren't building it as much anymore.  It's "been there done that", let's try something new.  The design is tried and true.  It's also one of the simplest builds for a horn sub.  I'll be building another one next year for my daughter and son-in-law.

Yes, you can which is why I mentioned the lack of vibration in the sub.

I think most people have stopped building due to the fact that the original driver it was built for is NLA. I think lil'mike also released a newer sub design that digs just as deep and loud, slightly smaller, and more variety in driver options - and so he sort of deprecated the f-20 and started pushing the newer one for people starting fresh.

I certainly won't be dumping mine for something newer any time soon.

Link or name of sub?

Hard to believe it will go as low yet uses a smaller box as the horn length determines extension.  Lil Mike is pretty good though.

I think I'm referring to the LilWrecker. Looks to be a similar physical size, but go down to 17hz. Going purely off memory with regards to his recommendation that someone build his newer designs over the F-20.

Much bigger than the F-20.  That's the one I built for mxrdad in Houston.  What a beast.

My amps Tube/SS always sit on vented shelf(s).

The last one i installed in the Cave for my equipment are shelfs designed as closet shelf(s) from lowes made w/solid wood and shot into 16" centers.

I'll see if i can post a pic of these. about $15 + per shelf.

I have used these and been very happy, but a 30 pound weight limit so no heavy amps. I use them for turntables.

2nd on the F20. Stupid easy to build (I did it twice!) and great bass that fit well under big horns.

Those are nice also but I think my mc-2105 comes in somewhere around 50lbs. Wish there was a F-20'close to me somImcould see and hear it.
