jason str
In the garage my old Pioneer SX 780 gets lots of use, the dial lights have been dimming when i turned the volume up. Normally lights on and daytime light through 3 smaller windows it goes unnotoced, however power started dropping out this weekend when i was moving around the power strip. Something had to be done. I thought at first just replace the cord but upon looking at the male end of the plug there is a cap that locks over the connection where two little screws hold the wire to the plug end. One screw was pretty loose, the other under 1/4 turn. The plastic cover is not easy to pull off the end of the plug but it comes off, held on with a latch on each side and its on there tight. If you own an old pioneer as many on here do its a good thing to check into. Loose wires cause fires. Lights no longer dim, sounds better too.
swapface
Thanks for the advice. I own a SX-990 and was about to pop the lid to replace the existing lights with LEDs. I'll be sure to check out the power cord connection.
