calhockey10
Currently I have RF-82 for front speakers, RC 52 for my center(looking to upgrade this still), and RS 52. I have a cerwin vega subwoofer I bought in college however I came across a klipsch RW 12 for sale and the guy is asking $300. I am wondering if that is a good price and if it would be a good sub for the setup I have.
Mike M
I have rf-82iis for my fronts and a rp-450c for my center and I started with a single r-12sw sub then added another and still felt I needed more bass, so I took the second sub back sold the other one for 250 and bought 2 r-115sw's. For me at least I felt the bass was lacking even with 2 12''s and now that I added the 2 15's I feel the system is more complete. Some might feel 2 15s is over kill but I think they sound perfect with my 7.2 set up. Edited October 14, 2015 by Mike M
wvu80
PM replied to. The PM essentially says the RW 12 is a good sub, but $300 is too much, $150-200 would be better. The next generation model to the RW 12 was the RW-12d (d for digital) which sold all day long in 2013 for $300. Your Cerwin-Vega was a good sub in its day but time has moved on. If you are on a budget, the real sweet spot in subwooferage value these days seems to be a pair of DIY 18" subs with an Inuke 3000, price is around $900 for that bundle. (someone might want to double-check my numbers on the bundle pair) That would be a substantial sound upgrade and would last you for years, well into your next speaker upgrades. K5SS
I loved the RSW-12 I owned and I thought the RW-12 was one of the worst subwoofers I have ever owned, and I have owned a bunch.

jason str
You may want to check out Parts Express. Their Dayton brand has good reviews and the price is right. I bought one of the Dayton drivers and made my own sealed box. http://www.parts-express.com/cat/powered-subwoofers/95 Buy the 12" Dayton, not going to win any awards but for the money its a dam good buy. Cheap enough to add more to even out room response.
