Paducah Home Theater
What I've been working on throwing together recently. My just now turned 7 year old boy and his setup so far... three Klipsch KL-650-THX, Sony receiver, PS3, PS4, Wii, Wii U, hardwired network fed by fiber optic to the house, and two gaming chairs. Sadly, the sound system in the chairs is his favorite speakers but I'm trying to fix that. Those were his birthday present so he's proud of them. Surrounds will probably be KL-525's on stands. Apparently I'll have to pick up some KG-300 headphones too. A dual THX sub setup may be hard to justify though. Need to build a book case thingy, and need a bigger TV. Any deals out there? I only look at projectors. Vertical split screens are tiny on a 32". Edited November 17, 2015 by MetropolisLakeOutfitters

Jim
I'm contemplating the same chairs for my 2 sons, and one for me to listen to my 2 channel set up. I like that tyhe cahirs can be hooked in tangent with each other for gaming. Mine refuse to use a receiver and speakers, so they just hook their ipod or phone into the lower ended model of those chairs.
derrickdj1
Spoil the child, go ahead. After all, they are only youngster for so long. Go Dad, Go! Tried some walmart ones but they were awful. These are surprisingly comfortable. I would have no reservations about using them as backup or second row theater seats. I have sat in actual theater seats that were worse.

Paducah Home Theater
I will have to go to Target then, the ones in Walmart are almost identical to those, except the stitching maybe. The awful ones from walmart were some $40 ones that sat directly on the floor. I saw the pedastal one from Wal-Mart but did not try it. They appear to be built similarly except like you said the fabric is different. The arm rest is different as well, plus I think the walmart version has two extra speakers that you're paying about $70 for each chair for. I didn't like the look or the price so we just went to Target. Spoil the child, go ahead. After all, they are only youngster for so long. Go Dad, Go! Get him a mini shaker from parts express and he will have a blast and so will Dad. Except for the chairs and PS4, it's mostly extra stuff I couldn't get rid of. That receiver is several years old but works fine. His TV is probably 12+ years old at this point. My wife was still in law school when I got it and she's 38 now.
