A1UC
Does anyone deal with this ? I think I have this going on 3 weeks now . It is driving me crazy " pulsating sound in ear " Edited November 22, 2015 by A1UC
jimjimbo
What has changed in those 3 weeks? There are many, many things that can affect your hearing, and perception of your hearing... Changed your diet? Using Q-Tips in your ears? (don't laugh, this affected me greatly) Changed lighting fixtures? Is it the same indoors and out? Stress? Hope it gets better. I deal with a varying intensity almost on a daily basis.

This was my response from my Doctor , the only thin that really changed was me not going to the chiropractor From Dr. XXXXX Pulsing in ears is a common symptom, like cracking of a joint, that has no explanation or correlation with known illness. You can still see him on Monday as scheduled. XXXXX , Triage RN Edited November 22, 2015 by A1UC
jimjimbo
Honestly, I wouldn't be very happy with that response. If you can, make an appointment with a specialist, not a general practitioner
teaman
I have been through numerous tests at an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) and his findings were that me taking a daily low dose aspirin was the trigger for me. If I take the aspirin every second or third day the tinnitus is far less noticeable. The aspirin thins your blood and the ear has a ton of blood vessels that acan be sensitive to thinner blood. The pulsing can actually be your inner ear blood vessels passing blood...weird.. I came to the conclusion of the aspirin because as a process of elimination I stopped taking it for a month. By the second week the ringing and pulsing was completely gone. I still take aspirin but at least I know now what to expect. derrickdj1
Some tinnitus is age related. It can be very annoying. It is still a good I deal to see a ENT doc.
SWL
Using Q-Tips in your ears? (don't laugh, this affected me greatly) I've heard this before. How do you keep your ears clean? I've been doing construction work for 28 years now. I get so much crap/dust in my ears so in addition to using Q-Tips, I put both ears up to the shower head to flush them out in addition to frequently flushing them with hydrogen peroxide. I've been doing this for over 10 years now ever since it was recommended to me by the doctor that cleaned my ears at the time and one ear was 75% blocked. I've gone back twice since then to have them cleaned. They said there was really nothing to clean.....keep up the good work!
Shiva
I experienced that for a couple of days in my left ear last year and attributed it to an extra loud listening session. Whether it was the Epic CF3's pounding before me or my subs which sit near field on either side of my couch, I am not sure. It did not last for weeks though. Have you been giving your ears a rest from loud music for awhile or not.

I definitely had the feeling that I damaged my ears from the volume I had it at.
babadono
Is the pulsing the sound of your own heartbeat? I am just curious because sometimes that happens to me when I put my head down on the pillow at bedtime. Most times I just try to ignore it or turn my head over to the other side(ear). Never really been able to figure out what causes it. Don't think its my age cuz its been happening for like 30 years.
