BigStewMan
Six of the top 10 -- not sure this is correct, as i can think of some spots that seem to be worse. Before my divorce, I drove the route in number 2 below twice a day. The top ten worst spots along the nation's highways: 1. Chicago, Illinois - I-90 between Roosevelt Rd. and N. Nagle Ave. 2. Los Angeles, California - I-405 between SR-22 and I-605 3. Los Angeles, California - I-10 between Santa Fe Ave and Crenshaw Blvd. 4. Los Angeles, California - I-405 between Venice Blvd. and Wilshire Blvd. 5. Los Angeles, California - US-101 between Franklin Ave. and Glendale Blvd. 6. Los Angeles, California - I-110 between Exposition Blvd. and Stadium Way 7. Los Angeles, California - US-101 between Sepulveda Blvd. and Laurel Canyon Blvd. 8. New York and New Jersey - Lincoln Tunnel between 10th Ave. and John F. Kennedy Blvd. 9. New York, New York - I-95 between I-895 and Broadway 10. Austin, Texas - I-35 between East Riverside Dr. and E. Dean Keeton St.
babadono
What about the 91? From anywhere to anywhere, but mainly through Anaheim Hills to Corona. Spent the longest week of my life there one day.
BigStewMan
exactly--the 91 is murder. I avoid it ... even on the weekend heading out towards your direction--around the 15. horrible.
DrWho
I drive on I-90 everyday to/from work....I get off at Nagle right before the insanity. What was your source for this list? I'm curious what metric they used.
Marvel
You've never driven in Manila... I haven't either and I hope I never do... four or six lanes magically turn into 8 lanes. Motorcycles weave in and out/between the cars/vans/trucks/buses. It's best as a passenger to just close your eyes. Bruce

MORE KLIPSCH PLEASE
I95 north or south in DC SUCKSAZZ pretty much 24/7 Yea I'm with ya Joe..... Some of you guys out West come over here to the East coast and check out the I-495....the beltway around DC.....oh yea it's best is around 4:30-5:30.....or you could always venture into DC.....and depending on the time of day the streets change there direction.....it's a mad house. Many many years ago I took a job at a Honda dealership just outside of DC.....they through some big coin at me to run the shop.....I lasted 3 days....on the 3rd day I told them I'm going back to the dealer I came from.....they said "we can give ya more money".....ahhhhh no thanks.... I now have my 11 mile trip to my shop, passing farms and cows along the way....it's priceless..... MKP :-)
wvu80
Where I'm from it's a traffic jam if you have to sit through two red lights. It's only like that once or twice a year, but I hate it when that happens. Edited November 24, 2015 by wvu80

I'm curious what metric they used. abc news http://abcnews.go.com/US/10-worst-traffic-bottlenecks-us-avoid-driving/story?id=35372288 Thanks! I believe the real source is actually highways.org (does anyone ever read up on the sources the News stations use? haha): http://www.highways.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/unclogging-study2015-hi-res.pdf Looks like they're using time, fuel consumption, and distance as their metric. It's interesting that I've felt like DC is the only place worse than Chicago that I've come across. I'd be curious to see a similar study performed in terms of the individual experience....so basically actual delays versus expected (best case) travel times. I bet that would put DC near the top of the list. I think it's interesting how they use $24/hr for calculating the value of the lost time. Anyone know how that amount is derived?
