Does your receiver allow you to designate one pair as front wides?

i will have to check, not too sure, i have onkyo tx-sr805

The 805 like my 705 has the normal 7.1 configuration(LF, C, RF, LS, RS, LRS, RRS, subwoofer).

Are you wanting to run these speakers in a home theater setup or more of multiple pairs of stereo speakers?

Not sure why anyone would want to do this unless you had a pair of speakers for 2 channel and then different ones for ht. However, the 83'snare better speakers so I'd let them shine up front all on their own. Put the 82'd as surrounds or bathroom speakers or something

only reason is because we might rearrange furniture and dont have anywhere else to put them unless we keep the same then i can keep them behind the couch still off to the sides

I had these speakers like this solely as a comparison when I upgraded to rf83. The rf82 are excellent as surrounds which is where you should keep them. If for whatever reason you are to re-arrange the furniture so you can no longer accommodate them maybe consider dropping down to a 2ch setup as the 83s are awesome for music.

Nice pic robbie60...keeps things in perspective. The RF-83's are impressive looking speakers.
