Phono Preamp

2M Black certainly wants a nice preamp.  Many choices in the range you want to spend that would work for me nicely so I won't be specific.  As you are all SS I presume tubes hold no charm for you, so you are even more open in that price range.  I'd just go with the best reviews you can find on what you want to spend.

The Lehmann Black Cube is definitely worth looking at. I have the original version, but the SE version, with upgraded power supply, is supposed to be much better, and is within your price range on the used market.

I've used mine with a Shure V15 III and Denon DL160 MM cartridges, as well as a 0.24 mV output ZYX Airy 3 MC cartridge. It has sounded excellent with everything I've thrown at it.

I appreciate everyones comments and recommendations, Thank you!  At it's price point and reviews, I'm really thinking about trying the Budgie Tube Phono Preamp. Since my equipment is ALL solid state, will there be any issues using the Budgie Tube Phono Preamp?

Is the phono stage in your C46 lacking?  Or are you just looking to get into MC cartridges in the future?  I'm asking this because after not playing a record in 25+ years, I have a turntable coming tomorrow and I'm just planning on using the built-in phono stage to start out.

Zero issues... no reason for there to be. I run all class d and it is completely black... zero background noise. You will be happy.

One thing is to try different tubes for different sound.

The budgie is excellent with both MM and MC carts.
