Embedding Spotify playlists

Recommended Posts

Chad - Is it possible to support embedded Spotify playlists with just a simple copy/paste like youtube videos? Sample code is as follows:

<iframe src="https://embed.spotify.com/?uri=spotify%3Auser%3Aspotify%3Aplaylist%3A6NCfeirBIrZfYcs9kwnS3x" width="300" height="380" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true"></iframe>

What would be the purpose of this?

"It's all about the source material. You can't fix crap."

Spotify uses 3 quality ratings for streaming, all in the Ogg Vorbis format.

  • ~96 kbps
    • Normal quality on mobile.
  • ~160 kbps
    • Desktop and web player standard quality.
    • High quality on mobile.
  • ~320 kbps (only available to Premium subscribers)
    • Desktop high quality.
    • Extreme quality on mobile.

Pay up Premium is barely listenable to, and it would take a crook to try to give it out free.

Free Spotify is garbage in garbage out.

Don't care - the purpose of this exercise is the ease of sharing what one is currently listening to, not fidelity.

I think it's a good idea TS. Besides having all the opportunities Spotify, etc. has to find new music this would be another option. There used to be a thread similar on Audiokarma that I'd skim through and simultaneously search Spotify to check out what others were into. Found a lot of good new/old music this way.

Really?  That's not my experience.

Not my experience either but the real change came when I began to EQ in the digital domain. I was floored at how good some of the streaming services could sound at 320kbps. Not cd quality....but damn close.
