Pete H
After some debate as to which horn sub to build, I settled on the F20 and will be doing 2 back to back. I'm building one for a friend that will either stain it or veneer it so I'm going to try to use minimal fasteners on the outside of the cabinet. Pictures are what they are, as I'm not a photographer and taking pictures while working on a project is a PITA Edited December 31, 2015 by Pete H
CECAA850
I can smell the saw dust from here! Looking forward to the build(s).
Pete H
Main rips are done and received some parts. Order was placed at the same time but coming as a split order?

Pete H
Quick panel jig build to assist in some of the cuts.

Pete H
Multiple methods ripping panels to length. Table saw, with and without sled, skilsaw and compound miter saw. Was enjoying some Sam Adams winter lager and it was in the 60's, at Christmas time in N.E. Ohio
Pete H
All panels cut to length.
CECAA850
What type of wood are you working with? Baltic Birch 18mm 5'x5' panels That's thinner than 3/4" I believe. You may have to fudge slightly.

You may have to fudge slightly. It's minor and with this build, all of your rips are what they are and everything is laid out to specific points for the horn path so when an 18mm panel is used, you really won't end up with any appreciable difference in the horn path. I've never been able to locally obtain 3/4 BB, although, I've purchased 18mm that was labeled as 3/4 on more than one occasion.

tromprof
That's nice wood, should finish beautifully. Higher quality that what I built with but I was painting. Keep the pics coming!

CECAA850
I normally cut one panel at a time. My first build I cut them all at once and ended up trimming as I went. I also now make the sides about a 1/16" bigger all around and flush cut them with a router once everything is together. It's easier than trying to glue a perfect edge. Thaddeus Smith
is .05" really close enough though?
CECAA850
is .05" really close enough though? He'll be fine. I remember one build that I drew out without measuring the thickness of my material. After about 2 panels I realized that I had marked 3/4 of an inch and not the actual thickness of the ply. It's a PITA. That's another reason I don't precut pieces any more.
Mallette
Finished my F-20 with black Formica to match my turntable stand. Really looks pretty great. I think these are the best possible match for Klipschorns. Dave
