Vintage audiophile equipment

Recommended Posts

I ran across a few items in an estate sale - all new in the box.  Not sure why the guy who owned these bought them and never used them.  I have no personal use for them myself, but I might get them anyway to sell.  Before I put them on eBay, would anyone here have any interest?

Akai GX-747 with DC-635 dust cover

Nakamichi Dragon auto reverse cassette deck

Nakamichi TX-1000 turntable

Nakamichi VS-100 vacuum stabalizer

Nakamichi PA-5 amp

Any interest?

Pics attached to this message.  What I'm asking is what they're worth.  That will let me know how much I'll offer the estate.

Yes it's a Nakamichi vacuum stabilizer.

Plus there is a Yamaha amp and preamp combo and the PA5 amp along with the Akai reel to reel deck.

pat in DFW.  I assume you are in the DFW area?   The PA-5 is a nice sounding SS amp.

Given all new in the box, never used....

The turntable originally sold for approx. $8000 at retail.  (and, get ready.....it weighs 40kg....)

The Dragon cassette deck, at least $750

The Akai deck, $1000

PA-5 amp - $350-700

Selling the Yamaha's also?

B2X - $750-1000

C2X - $750-1500

You can't even imagine what the TX-1000 is worth...If it is new like you say it will make your year. It's like finding ...the lost ark

Wow - that's a heavy turntable.  It's an auction and right now the turntable is going for $750 - not sure how high I want to push it.

Did you see how much a power supply is up for on eBay?

DO NOT just settle for a small amount.......What you have is the rarest of rare turntables which also happens to be quite sought after.

Let it ride for a while...i do not know how much you have invested but you could sell everything else it will still not make what the turntable is worth.

It's out of my league

Looks like quite the market for them in Germany,   www.audioscope.net/nakamichi-tx1000-mint-in-box-p-2399.html?ref=3    Conversion is about $28,148.00

another is not so clean   www.audio-markt.de/_markt/item.php?id=7820381116&audioauktion=921eb9b9398ac097557c043bf049d339   Conversion is about  $11,954.00

I wish I could have pushed it further, but at $1500 I had to stop.  A couple of other people were still pushing it up so I'll see where it ends.

I have seen plenty of Vintage Audio equipment going for as much as 10x the original price in excellent condition...def worth more if you have the cash, and the time to find the right buyer. Don't forget there is a resurgence in vinyl right now.

I would not be surprised to see it get the original MSRP.
