The History Kid
I have two RC-3's and can tell you, at least from my experience, that is not at all the case.
Deronb1
Well, first hand source is good to know. For what Matt is asking, cant get hurt too bad. Gonna kick it around. Thanks.
ClintonH
Havent read great things about the rc3. Nasally, muffled, stuff like that. That's the eperience I've had with the RC-35, it's getting replaced end of the month. I'm not a fan. If you can fit it I would go with a RC-7. The History Kid
I didn't have that experience exactly with the 35 that I had. But there was something odd about it for sure. Tinny comes to mind.
Moderators Youthman Posted January 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 12, 2016 Wake had one with his RF7ii and it was definitely the weak link. Then he upgraded to the RC7 and it sounded great.

I wouldn't expect anything less in the presence of the RF-7's. Though, it manages with the Heresy's okay.
Deronb1
Geez! I gotta get my ears on a few of these.
Moderators Youthman Posted January 12, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) It's always best if you can hear each speaker with your own ears to make the best assessment. Our ears hear differently. Some feel the RF4ii are amazing while others maybe underwhelmed. Some say RF7 are too bright, yet others feel they are just detailed. YMMV Edited January 12, 2016 by Youthman
Deronb1
I love the B&W CDM CNT for its clarity. I sold a big Polk RTi A6 and kept it instead. May just hold onto it. Its really not too bad with the RB-5s.Has an aluminum dome tweet that leans to the forward side.

Moderators Youthman Posted January 13, 2016 Moderators Share Posted January 13, 2016 If you are patient, you can find them cheaper. I've owned two over the years and I paid $150 and $200 but they are extremely rare at that price.
The History Kid
There are two RC-3's right now in Chicago as well as Matt's RC-3. They're a fairly common piece and go for around $100-$125. You could probably buy one of them and then get your money back out of it again when you find an RC-7 - you know, just to tide you over. Deronb1
Good to know. Im in no hurry. Listening to The Division Bell on the RB-5ii now. Love how much bass ya get at low volume. Made a low ball bid on RC-35 on fleabay. See where that goes.
