Hello,

I started with the post here https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/161581-best-old-school-multimedia-amp/ and I did so well ( I believe ) that I thought I'd ask for advice on the last of it!

Preamp/processor

Have pair of Chorus and Forte II's and bout a massively powered 6 channel amp (see above) AB International. Can you guys/gals help me finish it off! Thank You for any suggestions!

Right now the Marantz is the favorite preprocessor. I like my Integra 80.3. Sounds like you gave a powerful amp....(never heard of them till now) (couldn't find full specs) So check out Accessories4less for a good price on preprocessor.

The Marantz isn't bad.  I sold my Marantz AV8801 and replaced it with an Emotiva XMC-1 made in Tennessee (built and designed at their facility).

If you want "the best" stereo and 7.2 sound, the XMC-1 is it for anything under $10k.  No extra features though like the Marantz such as Dolby Atmos, etc..  just sound on par with Datastat, Anthem and other really expensive gear.

I went over budget! but I got the anthem D1 preamp. I think I did well. I got it for 725 + 48 for shipping. Over what I wanted to spend..but..nice..I think

Oh and here is an article of a guy using the D1 with the way I already do it with movies. HDMI to TV for video. Actually eventually may just upgrade to a Large Monitor. For now my old 55" plasma does fine.

That should sound really nice.

Thanks Carlooch,

I'm a little nervous about the amp. It's pro-audio stuffs and I've got to search for a manual. I'm not even sure what the switches are for!  but looking forward to figuring it out (aka playing :))

Here is a link to the AB International product archive page and a link to the PDF for the 6300A.
