Mallette
Especially Studer, but any very high quality machines that can handle brittle acetate tape. Jim Hunter, Klipsch archivist, needs use of a machine to transfer PWKs personal library of tapes to archive. What's in it for you? High resolution copies hot off the press of all tapes not encumbered with copyright issues. We really don't think many will be, so pretty sweet deal. PM me if you can help! Mallette
May need to re-activate, but looks like we have a firing solution. Dave
Rivervalleymgb
I have an Otari 5050. I have a couple of others currently in Tulsa for rebuild. I will check on the progress of them. I come through Hope often and it would be no problem to drop one off.
Mallette
Thank you, Sir! That's a fine deck. I will keep it in mind. I'll post the details of what's going on real soon now! Dave
Ki Choi
You really need to use a Studer A820 or A80RC with an external tape head preamp to transfer the tapes. There are no other tape machines that can handle the fragile tapes like them, IMHO. the problem is both models are bigger and heavier than your average washing machines and can't be transferred to TX easily.
Mallette
Thanks, Ki Choi. I have a line on a Studer and am working on it. This is FUN! Dave
