Ever used Klipsch outdoors?

Like the title says, has anyone used their indoor Klipsch to hold a party outdoors? (Excluding La Scalas - those can definitely handle such duty)

In theory, they wouldn't be too bad...perhaps a wider dispersion than ideal for outdoor use, but still could be used.

Most definitely.  It aint a party till the police show up though!

I never move my nice "indoor" speakers outside.  For times when I want to get loud outside I'll use my patio mounted KPT-100's or get stupid with my garage KP-301-II's.  Pretty much any of the industrial lines will get the job done.

I think the issue is how good do you want the sound?

We reconfigured between the EV's, LaScala, MWM/LaScala, MWM/K402 by a punch of some buttons.

Any of the speakers (EV's, LaScala) would work fine but they all sounded better with the more oomph that the MWM provided)

I had some industrial Heresy's, I put on top of my Jubilee bass bins.  They would work and sound "ok" outside but simply need more weight on the bottom.

Twenty some years ago me and friend of mine DJ a party. It was a quite a large room. I brought my LaScala's and my Adcom's and my friend brought his Chorusii's powerd buy a big Carver....it was quite good till I blew one of my woofer's in my LaScala's....

Outside on my deck....KP-362's gets the job done.....

...heresy??

They work great with a sub.  I have KP-250's that I've used with bass bins that fit the bill nicely as well.

I think Richard has more outside to fill with sound than you do Carl ;)

On another note Richard, if I ever get all of these KP-600's up and running, maybe I'll have to bring 7 stacks down for movie night some time?

Yep, that ought ta do it..... :)

Yes and they sound great outside.

Heresy's in the tiki bar outside and a portable set of MWM's with diy split LaScala tops for the rest of the yard. The Hersey's alone just pointing out in the yard just didn't have enough bass, in the bar they are fine.

Church asked me to do some music for a summer fest. I told them only if after everybody left, I could put a little "power" to them. They said sure the youth will love that. Took my cornwalls and a cd player with a 150 watt amp. Things went great until everybody left. I poured the power to them, everybody freaked out !! They said how can that much sound come out of that box. It was way loud, wish I would have had my db meter with me.

Any speaker with a rear port or passive radiator isn't going to do very well outdoors unless placed near a wall, or better yet, on a hard surface near the intersection of two walls (interior corner) so as to propagate the bass.

LS or CW would be best bets.

I'd be so up for that.  I'd even provide you the obligatory gift box filled with a copy of my collection of Marie Osmond disks....

(Now Carl knows how I got rid of all my neighbors!)
