ToolShedAmps
What stock brand of tube did 196x Sansui integrated amps and receivers come with? (Such as the AU-70) I believe that they were shipped with NEC tubes. Hope this helps. TS Matt.
Jim
I forget the actual tubes as I had one, and just sold it. There are 9 tubes total, and are extremely hard to find. If you open it up, they will have it right on them. 7189,12AX7,6an8 These are the replacements for it,if you are looking. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SANSUI-AU-70-Primo-Tube-Set-EL84-7189A-/190666309214?hash=item2c6498fe5e:m:mEidWpgAf_p9C9ZRv_9JY8g Edited February 9, 2016 by Jim
CindyJarvis
The Russian 6P14P-EV is a good substitute for the 7189. Do not try and use a standard EL84 or 6BQ5 in these amps FWIW. -Cindy Edited February 9, 2016 by CindyJarvis
NOSValves
None of those tubes are hard to find unless you want a certain brand. The Sovtek EL84M is the same tube as the previously mentioned Russian mil spec tube. Best darn EL84/7189 made today and IMHO every bit the equal of all the vintage 7189's...
