I have a Marantz 140 amplifier for sale. I purchased this from a friend whose father passed away about 4 years ago. I've used it off and on since then, but it's not getting rotated in often enough to hang onto. I thought it'd be a good opportunity for someone to get into a fairly robust, nice sounding, reasonably priced amp. I asked my friend if she knew how long her Dad had the amp and she said she remembered it being in the house "forever."  I don't have any paperwork, or receipts, but its condition also coincides with a long-term owner. Prior to my ownership, the amp was used with a pair of JBL C26 speakers.

It appears the amp is untouched, so it probably would benefit from a re-cap. However, I think it sounds fine and I certainly wouldn't use it with my Klipschorns if I thought something was wrong.  The amp books at 70 watts per channel.

Pickup in Oak Creek, WI, which is an hour north of Chicago.  I'm looking to get. Pickup only, please. Shoot me a message if you're interested.

Below are a couple youtube links to the amplifier in use last evening. Last night was the first time I fired the amp up in almost two years, so I let it sit idle for a bit and eased into the volume over time. I'm not sure if that's necessary, but I wanted to make sure it was operating properly before risking damage to my Klipschorns.

Thanks for all of the questions and compliments on the Marantz 140. I WILL get photos of the rear of the amp loaded this weekend, as well as the bottom.

The rear is just as clean as the rest, but one factory Marantz screw-on foot is cracked, so the amp currently wobbles slightly. It looks like a set of 4 NOS feet can be found on eBay for about $20, but I was hoping to find just one at a reduced price. The amp sits properly, as seen in the photos, but if you press on the top, it will give a bit toward the foot that is cracked.

I WILL ship the amp, so please contact me for a quote via FedEx or Speedy.

I added some additional photos for those who have expressed interest in the 140. I included a photo of the cracked plastic foot, along with a good one, to give an idea of what it should look like.  I'm listening to the amp again this a.m. while I clean the house and it sounds terrific with the Klipschorns.  Have a great day, guys.
