still somewhat unimpressed with stonehedge subs...graphs tell the story

Just picked up a miniDSP UMIK-1...Here's my first set of measurements with a few tweaks...I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Well, you're showing that you really don't have any subs playing--and your front/center loudspeakers haven't any LF extension, probably due to their placement in-room.  My guess is that your AVR or AVP isn't driving your subs.  This could be due to electrical connection issues or settings issues.  I assume that you've double checked your REW settings to make sure that you're using the UMIK-1 instead of the internal microphone on your computer (a problem that plagued my measurements until I recognized the REW issues when switching input channels using my AVP).

You're on the right track.  If you can check the subwoofer connections, then adjust the gain on the subwoofer channel manually (i.e., turn it up considerably), that would be the next place to investigate.  It looks as if you're getting nothing from your subs.

Can you even tell that the subs are making sound at all? You're at what seems to be 20 db at 25 hz. Ultra-quiet equipment fans that you can barely hear are louder than that. You could probably just lay the subs on the floor with no box and be louder if they were working. Should have nothing to do with the Stonehenge box if these graphs are accurate.

thanks for the responses guys.  i've probably got some setting screwed up that affected the graph.  there is is plenty of sound coming out of the subs.  i'm just trying to improve the rumble i think i should be feeling during movies.

i'll work through it again tonight.  one question...is there any problem with using airplay to get the signal to the receiver while running the sound test?

Actually, and this may sound dumb, but are you sure the microphone is working? I'm pretty sure that REW can actually use your PC's microphone like if you have a laptop with a built in microphone for video chatting and whatnot. If it did that, some weird slope like this wouldn't surprise me.

Did you load up the calibration file? Shouldn't be THAT far off, but still, could be part of it.

i did load the cal file.  REW recognized that i had a mic attached and ask if i wanted to load the cal.  i'll check my setting tonight.  i think maybe i didn't have the volumes up enough or something like that.

The Stonehenge is a good design and performance subwoofer.  There is an REW guide by mtg 90 and Austin Jerry on the AVS forum.  People commonly like or dislike a sub/s and the problem is set and the room.  I may be in the Indy are in a few weeks and could help but, I don't need another sub, lol.  Tell us about your room, size, sub position, type of auto EQ, other speakers and system gear.
