they are EXTREMELY beautiful... will wait for the secondary market.

are they MDF or Baltic Birch?

Looks like birch in the picture of the one in production.

Looks like MDF in the specs you posted

You are correct.  The spec says MDF yet the pictures shows what appears to be a knot on the inside of one of the cabinet walls.  We need clarification!

would that not be the veneer?

I guess I have to be completely specific here:

They are RF-7's.  They are MDF (NOT plywood) with Veneer on both sides.  Much like how you can buy veneer'd MDF from the store, which is generally veneer on both sides.

The pictures are to show that Klipsch is using double sided-veneer'd MDF.

they are truly breathtaking
In sound quality, or just looks?  What is the sonic difference, if so, and how was it done?

Well, I have Heresy IIIs, so I believe they are breathtaking acoustically :) ...but these are "just" an aesthetic upgrade.

I was told "most" of them have already pre sold. Great news!!!

Thank you for sharing with us Alex!

If they just went on sale today, how could "most" of them be "pre-sold"?

Not that I'd ever pay $3200 for Heresy III's... But that statement makes it sound like "most" of them won't be available to the public?

Dealers took a lot of the stock and they're pre-sold through those channels as well. We have stock online, though. I'm just warning everyone that it's going to go fast :)

Oh and here is the blog I wrote for these beauties: LINK

Also, would y'all be interested in a bunch of production photos that I have? The production photo on the 70th Anniversary Heresy III page is a legitimate shot of these speakers. Not one from years past.

If you guys are interested, I'll edit a bunch of them and post them here and probably on our flickr account as well.

quality built cabs will almost always be veneered front and back so the panels dont warp. they sell cheaper backer veneer for this purpose then more exotic expensive stuff can be put on the outside. at least this is from limited reading on veneer. i am veneering cabs that are already veneered. so i aint worry about warp
