Coytee
Nope, nope and nope. Another hint.... though he's not the lead singer, they have a floutist (flutist?) in the band however, today he has retired for what I understand to be health reasons (not sure about that). He at least doesn't tour with them so they replaced him.

dncdesign
Last hint says Moody Blues to me. Moody Blues opened for YES in Eckerd Hall, Clearwater and they were horrible. Whereas I was so delighted to get to see Chris Squire before he passed and I cannot say enough about Steve Howe's performance -

oldtimer
OK. Not the lead singer must be John Lodge? The song "I'm just a singer in a rock and roll band?"
dncdesign
John Lodge Didnt he play bass -
oldtimer
Yeah you're right. Then it might be the part time flautist himself, Ray Thomas. But no. I'm going back to Lodge because he also played guitar. Edited April 11, 2016 by oldtimer
dncdesign
I'm digging on Robin Trower or Rory Gallagher - they were good but not IMO best of the best...
Coytee
Last hint says Moody Blues to me. Just Hayward played a Telecaster? Thought he was Gibson all the way BAM! Justin Hayward during the solo part of Question. Stage lights go out.... lights focus on him and he cuts loose. My next hint was going to be the song he's playing is actually two different songs he was writing (apparently in the same key) and he couldn't finish either one of them.... so, he strung them together and Question was born.
