Chris A
I'm not entirely surprised by this, as the entire movie's DTS-Master soundtrack is clipped to high heaven. It's complete hash from top to bottom. Unfortunately not all digital soundtracks are created equal. This is a good comment and I think it plays directly to the OP's hearing hypersensitivity. One of the things that a lot of people don't understand is the effects of typical "inaudibly clipped" tracks: the clips go by so fast that most people don't consciously hear the clipping, but they are still being subjected to bursts of odd harmonics at very high frequencies. If those clipped peaks begin to cross some threshold in terms of the number of clips/second, then the human hearing system begins to become aware and irritated with the "grainy" sound of those HF spikes, thus causing subconscious listening fatigue. Further increases in the clipping rate/second will become plainly audible. All of these effects will exacerbate hypersensitive HF hearing. Read Guy Bérard's book for further info on this fascinating subject. Chris Edited April 30, 2016 by Chris A
