S+J
I think this is what you meant by top.
jjptkd
It looks like the crossover is supposed to be mounted to the terminal cup and has broken off?
S+J
Yes it has broken off.. Not sure how to go about fixing that problem.
ricktate
You say these are new.....if so take that one back. You need to take picture less close so we can see whats going on. Should be easy fix though.
S+J
Yes they were returned I believe. Is this a better zoomed out picture?
Max2
Someone will know exactly where the woofer wires go and Im a bit shocked that no one has already done that. Inspect the top and bottom of the X-over and look for a spot where they were likely pulled from.
mustang guy
I would completely call Klipsch and order a new terminal cup. It looks like somebody glued it back once and that didn't hold. I bet they don't really cost all that much if you don't have a warranty. You should have no problem soldering the wires back where they go. Just crack open the other speaker and see.
Moderators dtel's wife Posted April 26, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 26, 2016 You can send Groomlakearea51 a PM. IMHO opinion he is the resident Heresy authority. I'll be speaking with him tomorrow and tell him to check his PMs. Christy
Wolfbane
Maybe a few good whacks with a hammer. Made a note to self. Never buy anything from jason str. Not even a hammer.

Looks as if somebody already beat him to it by the way that crossover looks.
USNRET
Remove the other speaker's terminal cap (carefully as the crossover will be connected to it) and use that as the schematic But if it came from an authorized dealer I would have it replaced. Wolfbane
OP, can I ask where you bought these "new" from? My money's on Jimbo & Jason's House of Klipsch. After an adjustment by the tech there.
Max2
OP said they were returns, so he likely got a great price on them. Im betting the soldering iron is already out and S+J is at work on them.
rebuy
If he got them from a retailer--it's pretty crappy the store didn't test them before sending them out again. The consumer suffers.

Maybe they were and the store owner is just dishonest in his business practices. Either way the owner is at fault.
teaman
I was thinking more along the lines UPS dropping them off the back of the truck prior to finding his driveway. You never know...
S+J
I was thinking it possibly was in transit as well. But decided that my soldering skills aren't up to the task (this would of been the first attempt of soldering) of fixing the speaker. So I will just be shipping it back.

You should probably call them first, if it not an authorized Klipsch retailer you may be out of luck. Better yet use e-mail so you have documentation.
