johnnydrama
I was bored with my subs and couldn't stand not seeing the beautiful Ultimax 12 driver. I had it in the down-firing position originally as I mounted it in the Sub-12HG enclosure. I added dual Dayton 12" passive radiators, sealed off the bottom and rear of the cabinet, and stuffed each box with 1lb. of Poly. Really happy with the way they turned out cosmetically. They sound great as well.
fuzzydog
Nice work! They've come a long way from Sub-12s.
johnnydrama
Nice work! They've come a long way from Sub-12s. They certainly have. I always liked the look of the Sub-12HG because the design and blue LED matched my XF-48s well. And when Amazon ran a special on them at $179 each I couldnt think of a cheaper or better looking route for the Ultimax 12s. Even a 300 watt plate amp alone cost more than $179. totalcomfort
Dayton makes some of the best bang for the buck drivers you can find!!

johnnydrama
They look fantastic. Any Idea what it's tuned to? Unfortunately I don't. I have no measurement tools at this time.
mustang guy
They look fantastic. Any Idea what it's tuned to? Based on my calculations, this box is tuned to 45 Hz and -3db at 37Hz with the Ultimax 12. There is a +8.5db peak at 50Hz. All this is based on net internal volume of 1.84 cu ft and a pair of Dayton 12" passives with no added weight. If there were a single passive, the box would be tuned to 34Hz and -3db at 31Hz with this driver. edit: I want to add one other thing to the data. The Passive radiator is -3db at 25 Hz with two passives, and would be -3db at 24Hz with a single passive. I have no idea what all this means to the sound, but if you have a pair of passives spitting out 25 Hz with a nice little peek at 35Hz, it seems like it might actually measure well... If there is anybody that can take this on, the numbers are all above. Edited May 3, 2016 by mustang guy

mustang guy
Yeah, list them and some kid will build a box for his car. I assume they are 8 ohm, so wired in parallel for 4. You never know, they might be great for a hatchback sub.
