wvu80
SPAM Alert:Right after I ordered a product today, Fed Ex was listed as the carrier. Shortly after I received an email I am positive is spam. The spam may not necessarily be linked to the vendor, but the timing was exactly the same within a few hours. It has all the official looking Fed Ex logos and the characteristic purple color. At the bottom of the message it said "click here to unsuscribe."The tip off is the Fed Ex number did not match my order and there was no return email address visible. I had to dig deeper to get the true source: (which is shown below in the first line, originally it said it was from "Federal Express" with no email address visible) From: Federal Express <evillumination@barrmail.com>Sent: Friday, April 29, 2016 10:38 PMTo: wvu80@msn.comSubject: Federal Express #38324FedEx #38324We have sent you a message. An email containing confidential personal information was sent to you.Have trouble reading this email?Click here to open this email in your browser. wvu80
Thanks Travis, I hate spammers. Reported to Fed Ex per your link.
wvu80
I got another Fed Ex spam today, this one well known. It is the standard "Fed Ex undeliverable package" phishing email. I've had a couple of Fed Ex deliveries lately, one from Amazon. I don't know if the two events are related.
Karsoncookie
Most probably know this, but may help someone - At least in Yahoo mail, if you hover your cursor over the sender's name, the email addy it was sent from appears. So then you can judge the legitimacy. Lars
