Subwoofer recommendation for Palladium setup.

I recently bought a Palladium P-37 set. P-27C and P-27S's.

I am using two each Velodyne DLS-5000R and I want to run just one awesome sub. Music is my main preference.

Room is 3300 CU FT.

Klipsch P-312W

18-120 Hz.

1000 Watts RMS, 2500 Dynamic.

Velodyne DD-12 Plus

17-120 Hz.

1250 Watts RMS, 3000 Dynamic

SVS SB13 Ultra.

20-460 Hz.

1000 Watts RMS, 3600 Dynamic.

That are all about the same price +/- $400 since the P-312W is around $1750

From the specs stand point the SVS has the edge.

I had the Velodyne DD12 and although it's a grea sub, it didn't meet my needs as I already had an older Velodyne HGS15. Once I went to a 15" sub, I've never gone back to a 12" again.

If you can get a pair of Klipsch Ultra THX subs for the same price that would be best out of the Klipsch lineup.

With a small sealed sub you will have to rely on room gain or EQ to get any good lower frequencies out of it.

have you owned both of these? I have. The palladium is no slouch.

I would take the palladium over all that you mentioned. Now if you were gonna spend a little more I would say get a ported version like the pb-12plus or the pb-13 ultra. Or a little more could get you a seaton submersive which would crush all of them hands down.

About a year ago, I purchased a pair of RB-61's from a local seller.  He had a very nice HT with a single Seaton Submersive.  VERY impressive sub with tons of output.

I mentioned the THX model because i liked it when i heard them.

Heard most of the SVS lineup, not impressed. The PB ultra is OK if you don't block off the port but it is overpriced for what you get.

While it is nice to compare one brand to another none of them are very special in my opinion, i get home and listen to my horns and have a good laugh sometimes on the money people spend on a lesser product.

Ebay currently has 2 of these with the amp being bid upon.  1225 is current bid, 3 days to go in case OP is interested.

Never owned  Klipsch subs. I am using two Velodynes and they sound pretty good. I want a sealed sub though. I don't care about explosions and things like that. I want the very best musical sub for the money.

Sealed or ported means zero in terms of musical or not.

Whoever told you that does not know what they are talking about.

I started out with Velosyne Ct100 (10" with 100 watt amp), then F1500 (15" with 250 watt amp) then HGS15 (15" with 1250 watt amp) then dual HGS15's.

I purchased a Klipsch RSW15 and it has as much output as dual HGS15's so I sold the Velodyne, and began hoarding RSW15's lol.

That's what the salesman at PVS told me. He recommended the 13 ultra sealed not ported. Maybe I should keep what I have since they sound pretty good to me. After all they are 15" Subs.

The old salesman pitch huh ?

What is PVS ?
