CECAA850
I remember seeing these before. The guy said he was an electronics technician and added extra tweeters to the bottom of the speakers LOL!
moray james
come on anyone with any knowledge at all knows full well that harmonic's rise up so it makes perfect sense that tweeters should be mounted on the bottom of the cabinet. I have to admit it we all just missed that simple realization. Just turn your current loudspeaker upside down and you to will share the revelation. These new and properly designed RF7 will provide the sparkle to truly tickle the fancy and make your toes tap. Of course there be me problems with this design in the southern hemisphere? The History Kid
Not to mention they look like cheap drivers AND he started to cut other holes in the speaker and stopped midway through...

moray james
It's tempting to offer him $500. anyone who would do this to these speakers might not realize he could part them out for much more than that so yes why not make your offer and you might get a set of RF7 for a fire sale price. Go for it. Good luck.
Woofers and Tweeters
Similar to thermodynamics of hot raising and cold settling, bass is low so it falls and high pitch sounds rise, so this configuration lets your ears hear the music where they cross. They teach that in art class
moray james
Besides the bonus of being able to literally put the boots to those cheap tweeters with the same kind of thrill and satisfaction as Ted Nugent smashing guitars (but for a much lower cost) any time you hear a recording that just does not cut it, that's why the cheap tweeters. If that is not enough incentive then there is the fact that these speakers will ultra sonically de flea/lice your cats dogs and any thing in your carpet that ought not be there for free every time you play which will be daily I am sure. RoboKlipsch
These were purchased off of ebay within the last few weeks, I remember seeing them there and being shocked someone purchased them. Well lucky him now he's selling them locally and trying to turn a profit on them....lol

Go for it. Good luck. I am local to the area and might do this after they languish on the market for a while. If anything, I can find a way to take the extra drivers out and patch up the holes (I always run the grill cloth anyway). My only concern would be what kind of hack job happened to the crossovers but i am getting pretty handy with a soldering iron and there is awesome support here. The big question is that these would replace my KG 5.5s, do you guys think the sound improvement would be worth the hassle and money? I already have the ti tweeter upgrades and was planning on re-caping the crossovers and new internal wiring soon.
jason str
If you can get them cheap and need a project, why not. Anything over 4-5 hundred is taking a big chance. Maybe you could sell those extra drivers he threw in there. Yes, hope the crossover is not too messed up but you can always remove the components and install them on a new board if needed. I would not offer him more than $300 for them. Although he will probably just keep them for that price.
