The Marshall & Wendell speaks...

Recommended Posts

First music in what will be the Regional Music Heritage Center.  I was truly surprised at how little out of tune the unit is, as well as the amount of expression the AMPICO player can produce.  We listened to Beethoven, Berlin, Rachmaninoff, and many others.  This was, however, the first tune to be played.  Scott Joplin, of Texarkana, with the "Cascades."

Sheesh.  Had it trying to upload here.  It's on the Regional Music Heritage Center FB page.

Dave, nice piece of music.  Who did the restoration on the player? It sounds very good.

I have the paperwork, but can't recall.  Someone from Austin.  We would have thought twice about acquiring it but for both the incredible restoration work as well as having Howard Gustafson of Ragland Piano in Texarkana to service it.  Howard is one of a handful of experts in these machines left in the United States.
