How do they sound compared to the MCM?

Very similar, just smaller = less output, but unlike MWM bins, they push into the corners :)

MWM double bins with K-402 / K-69 has less output than an MCM 4-way, but it sounds better

Roger

Thanks Roger. I would put a value on the pushed into corners, but value more output more.

I have the 4 way and would prefer to have the quality of the K-406 / H-69.

Good evening; I am new on the forum so forgive me if I miss some etiquette item.     It turns out jweber I am the one who purchased the speakers for which you gave the link above.   They are to be delivered tomorrow and we will see how they sound next week.

Congrats  :emotion-21:

After you get them set up, give us your thoughts on the sound. What speakers are these replacing? And pictures, we like to see pictures.  :)

I am building out an oversize attic into an 1100 sq. ft. man cave/theater.   Going to frame the wall to accept these guys.    I have a 9.1 top of the line Marantz for power.      In the home we are leaving I have a 9.1 theater set up using rf 82ii, rc7, and 6 rf62ii.   Since the build out has just started I will take a few pics as we go along.     I am assured they are 100% functional.     k33 + 4 k55 + 2 k78.    I have to hear them but the specs call for a 16 k top so I may replace the tweeters.   Have to hear them first.

Yes, listen first.

I'd strongly advise against modifying these particular speakers in any way. TSCM are an engineering install (CE) speaker. It would be an utter waste attempting to make them something they're not.....ie. a B&W or Thiel for playing background music.

Embrace the fact that you purchased a thoroughly researched horn-based speaker system:

Thanks for the thought on the tweeters.    It will depend on my ears and a bit on the way the room sounds.    Actually most of my friends turn down the treble just a bit on the new 20k + speakers anyway.   I am going to be away for most of July and August so it looks like Sept. before it is really ready.    More later.
