brian adams
Hi to all my name is brian I recently bought a storage unit in an auction containing many Klipsch speakers and a subwoofer. Some are new in the box not opened my question is do I need a deck to hook them up? I am new to such high quality speakers and look forward to hearing how they sound. The new ones are R.C-52 center speaker/2 R.S52 surround speakers and one pair of R.B 61 bookshelf speakers. They are all from the reference series. There were many more opened ones including a quintette set. Any help would be great. oldtimer
You just need a multi-channel avr, and a source such as cable or satellite tv, or a dvd player and a dvd.
Woofers and Tweeters
Though what you have will sound great, the center and surrounds are, for the most part, made for Home Theater (HT) use. When set up, they will make a movie a lot more enjoyable.
Ceptorman
Welcome Brian, sounds like you did well depending on the price. Do you feel like you got a deal? Like Oldtimer said, get an multi channel AVR (receiver) it will have a connection diagram, and get it all connected. I'll bet you'll be surprised how good it sounds.
garyrc
Welcome! Get a good AVR; 100 watts per channel, all channels operating should do it, unless you room is very big. My bias would be to get a Marantz or Denon with Audyssey, preferably Audyssey XT32, but if that is beyond your budget Audyssey XT will do. Set up the room as well as you can, with a rug on the floor, and perhaps some room treatments. Get it to sound as good as you can without Audyssey, then run Audyssey with all 8 mic positions. After that, you can choose between Audyssey and Audyssey Flat, choosing the one that sounds better to you. Some people boost the bass a bit by turning up the subwoofer channel (at the AVR) to taste. What is your room's Height, Width and Length? Edited May 24, 2016 by garyrc

Thank you I did do well on the unit I paid $1010 and already made $3500 and still got more stuff to sell.Thats not including all the speakers there were 2 bins with used corner speakers and the boxes of new speakers witch I plan on using. Plus the quintette set. I am very happy with this unit.

Scrappydue
Corner speakers make us think khorns lol. That's what he was getting after.
wvu80
The RS42 are good speakers, but if you had truly found "corner speakers" or corner horns, that is a common way of referring to Klipschorns. You would have tripled your money on that investment right off the bat.
