WMcD
In other posts and links the discussion turned to accurate versus realistic. So I'll pose the question of whether some recording can be both. Here is an excellent recording of Steve Winwood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8878chOvfI It looks to me that two Neumann microphones are in the area, and some others. We don't know how many are active. But the result is fabulously natural. It is interesting that lyrics date from 1568. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Barleycorn WMcD
Mighty Favog
I've got a DVD of a tribute concert to Jim Capaldi where this was played by Joe Walsh.
billybob
Nice find! Streamed right into Blind Faith with similar setup.
Marvel
The burning logs are really loud... I think he sings very quietly, which would help him to sing in that high falsetto.. I had that Blind Faith album when it first came out. Bruce

billybob
So did I. Not the common cover art on the LP cover. John Barleycorn was as accurate as conditions allowed. That is accurate and realistic enough.

JohnA
Listening to it now. The guitar sounds just fabulous. So I guess his voice must really sound like that these days. I would enjoy a whole living room concert like those 2 songs.
billybob
To be sure , or rather certain. Top Notch as may say JacksonBart... The acoustics come into play it seems, but the artist and song come through, your listening experience of the tracks. Stately old ar4chitecture appear to have acoustics of strange yet pure, I wonder. Thanks for bringing up your experience. Like the crackle of the fireplace, natural. Sorry, just abit overloade3d senses...lol
billybob
The OP has not remarked. The presence seems in your face but somehow acceptable in the format. Satisfied I am with the sound reproduction of what appears a private session of more than 1 contribution. Refreshing!
