Woofers and Tweeters
I didn't take Realistic as makers of nice equipment until a few years ago when I bought this one. I went to demo the first pair of Forte that I bought, and he was using this one to show them. I bought the Forte and a Luxman 1050R, but couldn't get over the looks and sound of the STA 2300. A couple of weeks later I went back and bought the Realistic and a 160 wpc Kenwood KR9600. The Luxman and Kenwood were cycled in and out of the mix for a couple of years and eventually sold, but the 125 wpc Realistic stayed. I haven't been using it lately. Though I will probably regret it later, I'm going to let someone else enjoy this one. The last ones that sold on the bay went for $406.51 and $645. The only two things that are wrong with it is a small chip in the wood and 2 of the 3 lights don't light. Though trade offers are welcome, I'd rather have $300 for it. Note: one picture is a stock internet pic and the other is one that shown the chip.
absolve2525
Really nice sounding receiver! I owned one. Looks super cool with the lights on in the dark. It definitely holds its own when compared to the other big boy monster receivers. I didn't have room, and traded mine away. Good luck with your sale! Dr Morbius
Realistic, made by Pioneer? And how old would you say it was?

It walked on the big Kenwood.
absolve2525
That was a top of the line model made for Realistic by Foster Electronics, I believe. It's HEAVY with a very large transformer and big heatsinks inside.
Woofers and Tweeters
Realistic, made by Pioneer? And how old would you say it was? I know that later, Pioneer made their equipment. It seems that Foster Electronics made them at that time. I'll look into it. It's shown in page 16 of this 1982 catalog
Woofers and Tweeters
This receiver sold today off of my ad on Craigslist to someone who lives ~100 miles away (I did 30 +/- miles to help). On the way home, I contacted the guy I bought the receiver from in 2011 to tell him that I let it go to a new home + I hadn't talked with him for over a year. Ironically, he was going to call me to offer some LaScala that need a little TLC that he just happened score yesterday. Funny how some things time out....to where I don't even get home with the money before I spend it elsewhere. Link to LaScala
